Director of Transportation - Mr. Barry Bryan

Our mission is to provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for our students, ensuring they arrive at school ready to learn and return home safe and sound. We are committed to the well-being of our students and strive to maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Explore our page to discover how the Transportation Department plays a vital role in supporting the educational journey of the Bradford students.

 My Ride K-12

The Bradford Area School District utilizes a bus rider system and parent app, My Ride K-12, to provide quick access to your student's routing information, student scans, and estimated arrival times of your school bus.

My Ride K-12 utilizes GPS data to give parents and guardians access to the time the bus is expected to be at their scheduled bus stop. Transportation information for the 2024-2025 school year will be available on the My Ride K-12 app by mid-August.

Our transportation department also sends notifications to parents using Ride K-12 to inform them of general information, such as school closures and delays. You will also be able to send emails directly to the transportation department.

We encourage every parent who has a bus rider to review the instructions linked below. The instructions include important information regarding all the functions of the app but also how to obtain some of your student’s information that will be needed to register for the app.

  Bus Routes

Download the My Ride K-12 app to confirm your child’s bus routes. If you are having trouble, contact the bus garage at 814-368-4714 or your child’s school building.

New ID Cards and School Bus Badges

A critical component of My Ride K-12 is students using their school-issued ID cards as bus passes. The system has an ID card scanner that will log the time and bus number your student loads and unloads from the bus. Students must have their badge with them every time they ride the bus.

 Badge Replacement

If your child loses their badge, it can be replaced in the front office of their school. Each building can create a new badge. Please be aware, there will be a fee for any badge replacement.

 Second Stops

Unlike many other school districts, the Bradford Area School District permits two bus stops per student. We offer this to assist our families with multiple custody and childcare requirements. The downside of offering two stops is the possibility that a student is placed on the wrong bus for the afternoon ride home or the stop is used so infrequently that the bus driver misses the stop.

We have adopted the following guidelines for a second stop request to minimize these concerns.

·         Each student will be permitted a maximum of two stop locations. Stops beyond the home address will only be issued for custody or childcare issues that occur regularly.

·         All requests for changes in student transportation should be submitted in writing to the building principal at least three (3) school days in advance of the requested change.

·         Emergencies will be handled on a case-by-case basis. The following will not be accepted as emergencies: short-term childcare arrangements, birthday parties, personal appointments, visiting friends, student jobs, half days, or other convenience matters.

·         Second stops will only be approved for existing stop locations unless the stop is used more than four times per month.

Students and parents are asked to refer to the district website to review the full policy. The website is located at School Board Policy.

With these policies in mind, if you would like to request a second bus stop, please complete the form on the link below. Once completed the form can be emailed or faxed to the links listed on the bottom of the form, taken to the transportation department located on Songbird Rd or handed to the front office of the school your child attends.

Please note that receiving your child's new stop assignment may take up to three days. To verify your child's second stop request has been approved, you must use the all My Ride K-12. Do not attempt to use the second stop until you see this verification. Once the stop is assigned it will stay in their records indefinitely or until a new stop is requested.
